Revisiting Donkey Kong 64: Was It Love or Nostalgia?

Growing up I loved Dankey Kang 64, and I was completely unaware that there were people out there in the world that hated this game, I couldn't fathom this game conjuring up any sort of hate, for any reason ever!
Maybe after finishing it I'm starting to agree with the criticism, lets take a look back at Donkey Kong 64.

As the gorilla Donkey Kong, the player explores themed levels to collect items and rescue his kidnapped family members from King K. Rool who seeks to destroy DK Isles. The player completes minigames and puzzles as five playable Kong characters—each with their own special abilities—to receive bananas and other collectibles.
