Spanish - Stressed Possessive Adjectives Explained In 2 And A Half Minutes

Описание к видео Spanish - Stressed Possessive Adjectives Explained In 2 And A Half Minutes

In this video, I’m explaining stressed possessive adjectives in Spanish. Stressed possessive adjectives are adjectives that indicate to whom something belongs, and their English version is mine, yours, his/hers, ours, and theirs. In Spanish, they all have gender and plurality: mío/a(s), tuyo/a(s), suyo/a(s), nuestro/a(s), and vuestro/a(s). The trickiest part to remember with them is that the adjectives suyo/a(s) can all mean of his, of hers, or of theirs, so you need to specify who the subject is in context. While nuestro/a(s) and vuestro/a(s) keep their forms as regular possessive adjectives, they can also function with the same meaning, like saying “nuestro libro - our book” which can be rewritten as “el libro nuestro, still meaning - our book or the book of ours” with the same principle applying to the rest of the adjectives.

About me:

I’m Alex, and I’m a student at UNLV. As I major in Spanish, I advance in my linguistic skills, learn new concepts, and understand how learning within languages works. I’m fluent in Russian, Hebrew, and English, and I’m learning Spanish and German. I’m simply trying to make languages seem very easy.

As a disclaimer, I’m NOT a teacher and never taught a day in my life, but I faced many horrible teachers (especially in languages), so I’ve decided to educate on these topics using my way, better than how most people would teach them. What works for me may or may not work for you, and that’s okay because we all have our unique ways of learning.
