Xenogears - Citan's Secret (Scenes)

Long plot video where you learn the truth of who Citan really is and what his intentions are. I would just watch instead of trying to read what I say about it lmao.

Overview

You notice from very early on in the game that Citan knows more than he leads on to. It seems like every situation, Citan knows what's up with the world when no one else really does. You find out that Citan used to be in Solaris with a few people, but no real details on what he has done while up there. It does explain how he knows a lot of info about why the world is the way it is.

Citan explains the area they are in is heavily restricted. He also explains that in this area resides the Gazel Ministry. It's best to watch the video or my explanation will be confusing. But essentially, the destruction 500 years ago ended up killing off the Gazel Ministry that wanted to live forever. They are preserved in computer form, and they retain their personalities as well with their intention to revive god. Cain, the emperor of...everything, also resides with them.

Elly finally catches on to Citan knowing way too much when they are trying to escape from Solaris. After calling him out on it about as hard as possible, the room goes dark right before Citan gets a chance to respond.

Fei walks into a room where he is then caught in a trap that immobilizes him. The rest is best explained watching the video. Essentially Citan is an informant for Emperor Cain and is unsure if The Contact (aka Fei) is their enemy or ally. Citan assures Cain that he is not an enemy, and then Citan frees Fei. The Ministry members reveal their ultimate goal of reviving God and becoming one with him.

In the next scene this is the first time you see Krelian, but he's essentially the brains behind everything happening, even with Emperor Cain. You can ignore most of what he says, it's all just science talk. You just need to know he has a significant interest in Elly's inner power you've seen before.

The final scene reveals Citan is not actually your enemy, but that he brought everyone here to teach them the truth behind how Solaris is run and the truth of the world. He also mentions that he removed the Limiters everyone has implanted in them at birth, which makes them fear fighting the Ministry and Emperor. This ends up being pointless in the end, because...well, you'll find out soon enough.
