Why these fig trees were not growing - Stunted growth and its cause. ALSO FIG CUTTING UPDATE

Hey Fig Fam,

Some of my fig trees in a particular section of my nursery were NOT growing and I did some investigating. ALSO my "forgotten" fig cuttings are off to a great start! about 80% of them have pushed out growth and are on their way to becoming fig trees! Crazy!

In this video I go through what my healthy in-ground trees look like and and then I look at the unhealthy fig trees and do some digging and investigating to find out what caused the stunted growth.
FMV? maybe
Nutrient poor soil? less likely.
Root bound? nope
So, the root knot nematode ended up being the reason for the growing issues for what was causing the fig trees stunted growth. I have plans to revamp the soil in this spot to allow for a healthier microbiome and suppress issues with nematodes on my fig trees in the future. They are in our soil in the wilmington area and it's just how it is but if I create abundant life of other fig friendly microbes in the soil Ill help keep the harmful ones away!

This video was shot last week and I was able to get this video out today - life has been busy in the best way and I'm excited for the next video to show you an update of my forgotten cuttings as well.
