Greco Les Paul pickup comparison. 1979-1983. Marshall sound.

Описание к видео Greco Les Paul pickup comparison. 1979-1983. Marshall sound.

So I thought I would do some sound samples of the pickups in my Greco Les Paul guitars, made from 1979-1983.

These were recorded direct from the Joyo Preamp House at a couple of settings that I thought were similar to my Marshall JCM800 - my favourite amp. It's not a mic'd sound, via a speaker cab, but it will hopefully give you an idea of what the pickups sound like.

I double tracked each guitar, over a Southern Rock type backing track I created. One take was lower gain, just rhythm, then a second pass with higher gain and a lead line. There's nothing complicated going on playing wise, as I wanted each track to be playing the same thing - and I wanted to cut them all together for a full pass with all guitars, in the video at the end, so it's easier to hear the differences.

This was only done on the bridge pickup of each guitar for this particular video.

The guitars and pickups are:

00:00 - 1979 Greco EG700 - U2000 pickups
01:48 - 1981 Greco EG600PR - U1000 pickups
03:36 - 1981 Greco EGF850 - PU2 pickups
05:24 - 1982 Greco EG56-60 - Hot Lick pickups
07:12 - 1983 Greco EG59-70 - Double Trick pickups

Thanks as ever for watching - Dunsy
