The 718 EV will ride on a newly developed sports-car platform that aims to keep the vehicle as light as possible. Porsche has not revealed the exact specifications of the 718 EV yet, but we can expect it to have a rear-motor-only version as the entry-level model, and an all-wheel-drive version with more power and grip as the equivalent of the GTS trim. The 718 EV will likely use a similar 800-volt architecture as the Taycan, which allows it to charge at a rate of up to 270 kWh using DC fast-chargers. This means that you can get up to 80% of battery life in just 15 minutes. The 718 EV should have at least 250 miles of driving range, which is more than enough for most daily trips.

The 718 EV will also inherit the sleek and sporty design of the 718 Cayman and Boxster, but with some subtle changes to reflect its electric nature. For example, it will have a closed-off grille, aerodynamic wheels, and distinctive LED headlights and taillights. The interior will be spacious and luxurious, with high-quality materials and advanced technology features. You can expect a digital instrument cluster, a touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging, and a host of driver-assist and safety systems.
