A friend pointed this out to me on Ebay, so I bought. Was disappointed when it arrived in a box not much bigger than the amp. At least it was double boxed and had some (a little) bubble wrap. However, it wasn't quite enough. A corner of the top cover got bent but it's not too bad. It also didn't have tubes in it. I went back and looked at the auction and that was my bad. The seller said it didn't come with tubes. Wouldn't have mattered anyway. If it had had tubes in it, the way it was packed, they would have been busted up anyway. At least it was clean like the seller said, and that's why I bought it.
After hooking it up, I found that it didn't let the radio receive or show any radio power thru it. That was fun tracing that down. The original owner had unsoldered the relay board to work on it and put in the Nomad replacement relay boards, but since all the coax lines look the same, of course he had them all mixed up as far as what went where. Some tracing got that straightened out, then the big relay was bad, replaced that with a new one, and recapped it. This one runs on 8950 tubes (12v filament) and since I didn't want to hack or mod this clean one, I stuck the only 4 8950 tubes I had in it. Puts out about 200 average and 300 peak. Would do more with a better radio going in and better tubes, but all in all, I like it. Think I'm going to put this one in my keep pile, so its going to take some $$$$ for me to let this one go.
