Functional Performance Upgrade: The Rugged Ridge Sherpa roof rack kit is for 2007 – 2017 Jeep Wrangler JKs. There are different versions of the roof rack for either a two or four door Jeep. The roof rack kit is designed to bolt onto the Jeep and provide additional storage opportunities. This kit version of the roof rack includes the cross bars, making it a complete cargo system. Another great feature included with this roof rack is its ability to tilt back, the rack comes with a lanyard that is attached to the jeep and limits the range of motion to ensure that nothing is over extended when tilting the rack back. Once tilted back you will be able to remove the freedom panels of a hard top or fully retract a soft top. It’s important to note, in order to fully remove a hard top, you will need to remove the rack entirely. In addition, the rack comes with a 5-year limited warranty.
 
Heavy-Duty Construction: The Rugged Ridge Sherpa roof rack is a heavy-duty construction designed to support up to 300-pounds. It’s coated in a textured black powder coat finish for great durability and corrosion prevention. The front bars also include an air dampening lip and tabs for light mounting. The cross bars included with the kit are 56.5-inches long and span the width of the roof rack, providing a solid foundation for any cargo.
 
Moderate Level Installation: The roof rack is considered a moderate level installation because it will require some drilling into the frame. The rack is designed to work with the factory rear bumper or a Rugged Ridge rear bumper, any other aftermarket rear bumper might require additional modification. The installation itself will also require the removal of the factory windshield frame brackets. Once the front and rear brackets have been installed, the rest of the bracket system will bolt on easily. The overall install should take about 3 hours to complete with basic hand tools and light drilling or modification to your aftermarket bumper.
