In this episode, Dr. Jordan Shallow, shows Adam his pre deadlift rituals. The goal with this deadlift warm up and mobility routine is to maximize strength yet remain functional. We refer to these as gatekeeper exercises for dynamic stability.

Wide Stride Walking Lunge:

Deadlift rituals:

- gradual hips open
- leg drive into the floor
- sink down
- open up
- pull with the sternum
- tall position
- try and find your balance
- with your hip loaded
- sink down into a Romanian deadlift on that one leg
- use your hands as a marker
- kick back
- reach down to the floor
- purposefully explore your stability

MOVE FROM THE HIPS***

How to MAXIMIZE Your Deadlift Warm Up

- 6-8 inches back
- deadlift grip
- pull in
- use your lats
- shoulder blades in your back pocket
- quick leg drive into the floor
- control your bar path
- knees over the bar
