Located in Namkhana, Mousini Island is among one of the offbeat places to visit near Kolkata as it is not much explored by tourists so you can expect less crowd throughout the year.
This virgin beach is great for a short weekend trip from Kolkata specially unmarried young couple or a young group.

How to reach Mousuni Island
Mousuni Island by Train
Take a train from Sealdah station to Namkhana and then a toto or van to Hujjuter ferry ghat or Patibunia Ghat of Chinai River. After crossing the River by Boat take another toto to your pre-booked campsite.
You can also choose a Car or bus from kolkata. Mousuni Island is 120 Km from Kolkata which takes approx. 4 to 5 hours to reach.

Where to stay on Mousuni Island
Approx. 72 number Beach Camp in Mousuni Island. This Island has 2 types of accommodation, mud houses or cottages and tents. We booked a AC Room for our stay. The total cost per head per day Rs.900/- to Rs.1500/- including Food like welcome drinks, lunch, evening snacks, dinner and breakfast.
There are no luxury hotels on this island so expect basic amenities and enjoy living in the lap of nature.
