Battle of North Anna | Overland 160

Описание к видео Battle of North Anna | Overland 160

Following the stalemate at Spotsylvania Court House, Ulysses S. Grant was determined to continue his Overland Campaign against Robert E. Lee's Army of Northern Virginia. Grant found the Confederates entrenched on the south side of the North Anna River, where Lee's "inverted V" defenses forced Grant to divide his forces into three parts to attack. We pick back up our coverage of the 160th Anniversary of the Overland Campaign at the Fox House, a property preserved forever by the members of the American Battlefield Trust.

The American Battlefield Trust preserves America’s hallowed battlegrounds and educates the public about what happened there and why it matters. We permanently protect these battlefields for future generations as a lasting and tangible memorial to the brave soldiers who fought in the American Revolution, the War of 1812, and the Civil War.
