For the dough
280 gr flour
1.5 tsp baking powder
120 gr butter
70 g sugar
4 yolks

500-600 gr strawberries
1 tbsp sugar
3 tbsp cornstarch

4 whites
170-200 g sugar
pinch of salt

1. Beat the room temperature butter together with the sugar and salt until lightened.
2. Add the room temperature yolks and beat again for 1-2 minutes at high speed.
3. Add the baking powder to the flour, stir and sift the flour into the egg and butter mixture.
4. Mix everything with a spatula first, then with your hands. (quickly, just to get the two masses to come together!).
5. Cover the baking dish with parchment and place the dough in it.
6. Put the dough in the refrigerator.

For the meringue
1. Beat the egg whites with salt until soft and frothy.
2. Gradually beat in the sugar until stiff peaks form.

(While making the meringue. Take the dough out of the refrigerator, prick it with a fork and put the dough in a preheated oven to 180C for 10-15 minutes)

For the berry filling:
1. Combine strawberries with sugar, add starch.

Assemble the cake:
1. Take the pastry out of the oven.
2. Transfer the berries to the pastry.
3. Top with the meringue as desired.
4. Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes.
5. Let the cake stand for a few minutes
