HPE ProLiant DL20 Gen9 Server - In our video, we provide a simple & objective overview of the memory and CPUs. We will review the different types, sizes and speeds of RAM. Let's get rolling. The HPE DL20 Gen9 is an ideal entry-level server handling low end applications. There is 1 CPU socket (LGA1151) supporting Intel Xeon E3-1200 V5 series, Pentium series and Core i3 series processors. We recommend Intel E3-1220v5 as a good baseline option for everyday needs. Regarding the memory, the DL20 Gen9 runs on DDR4 and has 4 DIMM slots. Speeds accepted include 2133MT/s, 2400MT/s and 2666MT/s. Please note 2666 will clock down to 2400MT/s, which is the true fastest speed. Sizes accepted include 4GB, 8GB or 16GB. No unfortunately 32GBs are not supported. There is only 1 type of memory compatible with the HPE DL20 Gen9 and that is ECC Unbuffered, also know as a server UDIMM. Not to be confused with non-ECC UDIMM (desktop memory). The max configuration for the ProLiant DL20 G9 server is 64GB via 4 x 16GB 2400MT/s ECC Unbuffered Server Memory. Upgrade your server to the max with memory kits from Cloud Ninjas! We recommend running your HP DL20 Gen9 server with at minimum 16GBs, and really you should consider configuring to 32GB or 64GB to maximize it's full potential.
