The Eastern Cape government remains keen to see the building of a nuclear power station in the province. But the statement by Premier Oscar Mabuyane during the opening of the legislature yesterday is getting mixed reactions from the Kouga area where one of the proposed sites, Thyspunt, is. But Thyspunt is seemingly not the frontrunner as a site as Duinefontein in the Western Cape is ahead in the process regarding planning and logistics which includes environmental impact studies.
