Smart Drone Application for Locust spot survey and Control:
Pink Color Locust: Tiddi dal, Tidi dal

After rainfall in the swathes of desert from West Africa to India, plants begin to grow and desert locusts scuttle to their newfound food supply. As the solitary insects congregate to eat what little vegetation is available, they can quickly turn into dangerous and destructive plagues.

To prevent these small groups from becoming crop-consuming swarms that black out the horizon and devastate national food supplies, scientists observe vegetation growth, track locust movements and population and spray pesticides to avert disaster.

Due to unpredictable rain fall and weather condition in India large group of locust swarm entered in to India from Pakistan during winter season. After survey we found that, this locust group is staying on trees and mountain areas of forest during night time where manpower or spraying mobile van cannot access to spray insect pesticide for control of this locust swarm and we cannot spray by helicopter due to human and animal risk.

We had taken a trial of locust survey and control by Drone Aerial Spay from 25th to 27th December 2019 at Jegol, Datiwada, Gujarat-Rajasthan Boarder (Banshkatha-District) with locust control Team. During this trail we got successful result to control locust by Targeted Drone Aerial Spray.
