One of those hymns that can sound so clumsy, as though the organist is playing something never intended for the organ, with a line of light switches for a keyboard, this tune is actually underrated. Here, I use my own improvised accompaniment in an attempt to make it into something beautiful. With varying degrees of success! Played during practice time at Our Lady & St Hubert RC Church in Birmingham. A beautiful, contained Hill Norman & Beard organ from the late 1930s, in the gallery. The Church is one of my favourites in all of the Archdiocese of Birmingham, and well worth a visit.
