I believe there's a fine balance to be had between God as a friend and God as the King of Kings. We know He is our friend, but in that knowledge, we cannot lose the awe and respect that He deserves as King of the Universe. This song captures that awe that humanity must have when approaching, though boldly, the Lord of Lords. May we realise that He isn't a "mate" or a "buddy" - He is the King of the Universe who bows to be our Companion. What an amazing God we serve!
