The cult legend that is ‘Lawrence’(known by just his first name) has been making albums since the debut Lp of his former indie band ‘Felt’, 1982’s “Crumbling The Antiseptic Beauty” and made 10 albums ending with “Me And A Monkey On The Moon” in 1989.
He returned with Glam retro band “Denim” in 1993 making three albums splitting in 97’ only to return with his third band Go Kart Mozart in 1999 making 4 albums in 19 years.
Apparently the same band but a slightly different name made album 5 in 2023, “Pop-Up! Ker-Ching! And The Possibilities Of Modern Shopping.”
with almost all the songs under 3 minutes. Here is a sharp short stab at a skewed look at modern consumer culture from the witty perspective of Lawrence doing a rare gig which was the matinee show ahead of a later show that night.
