XS650 Clutch Parts Damaged

It’s getting tougher to find some parts for XS650s while more parts are suffering from age and fatigue. In the process of preparing the clutch parts for reassembly Bruce finds a couple of issues with parts that will require repair or replacement. A priority for this build is to keep it as inexpensive as possible. That said, safety and reliability cannot be sacrificed just to save a few bucks. The XS650 clutch was in tougher shape than expected. It’s going to cost a little extra in parts, but the result will be a dependable clutch with smooth operation.

Argyle Motorsports in Edmonton came to the rescue with a thrust plate that is obsolete. The computer showed they had one. Murray took the time to dig through a box of obsolete parts to come up with the thrust plate. With shipping to Calgary, the cost is less than $20. This is customer service.
