Olympus Zuiko 300mm f/4.5 Auto-T (Olympus' Most Underrated Lens?) | Round Glass Review

Описание к видео Olympus Zuiko 300mm f/4.5 Auto-T (Olympus' Most Underrated Lens?) | Round Glass Review

Let’s be completely honest: this lens makes some compromises. The tradeoff for those is that this is a long focal length, a fast speed for that length and, compared to a traditional long lens design of this spec, a much smaller and lighter package than could otherwise be had. But photography is filled with compromise and, in all things, compromise is not inherently bad. This lens can be worked with and worked with quite well today on mirrorless cameras if you do these few things:

1- Don’t crop your image, or crop only a few percent
2- Shoot full frame
3- Have a newer mirrorless with a good focus peeking or zoom in and focus precisely, or preferably both
4- Use a camera with a decent megapixel count

Those things will help ensure you make the most of this lens. Don’t expect miracles and don’t expect perfection. Expect a lens that delivers interesting, era-typical images in a package that, for the spec, is small and light. This lens will fit in most any camera bag, including my smallest camera bag, which means you never have to compromise on whether or not you want to take it with you.
