US Embassy in Saudi capital Riyadh hit by drones -“Gang of 8" Who is this? Canada, china new task?
The United States Department of State has urged Americans to immediately leave 14 Middle East nations as conflict between the U.S., Israel and Iran intensifies. Secretary Marco Rubio issued a “Depart Now” warning, citing serious safety risks in Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Israel, West Bank & Gaza, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, United Arab Emirates and Yemen. The warning comes after Iran and its allies unleashed a massive retaliatory action, targeting American military bases and embassies in the Gulf nations, including Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman, UAE and Qatar.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed it struck the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during what it described as its tenth wave of missile attacks. In a statement, the IRGC said the location was targeted with Kheybar Shekan ballistic missiles and described Netanyahu’s fate as “uncertain,” prompting widespread speculation online. Within hours, social media platforms were flooded with questions about the prime minister’s whereabouts. Netanyahu later appeared publicly in Beit Shemesh, visiting a site hit by an Iranian missile a day earlier that killed nine people.
A Saudi official has reportedly accused the United States of prioritising Israel’s defence while leaving Gulf partners exposed as Iranian missile and drone attacks escalate. The claim comes amid rising regional tensions involving Iran and Israel, with U.S. military infrastructure across the Gulf potentially within range. Key installations include Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar and the U.S. Navy’s United States Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain. Gulf officials have urged restraint even as air defences intercept incoming threats.
UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss the unfolding security situation. According to Emirati officials, the leaders reviewed recent Iranian strikes targeting the United Arab Emirates and other Arab states, stressing the need to prevent further escalation. Both sides called for restraint and renewed diplomatic efforts as missile exchanges and retaliatory operations widen across the region. The developments underscore growing international concern over regional stability, energy infrastructure security, and the risk of broader confrontation.
An Iran-aligned umbrella group calling itself the “Islamic Resistance” has claimed responsibility for launching 23 drones at U.S. facilities in Erbil, including the American consulate and Erbil International Airport. Iraqi sources say additional drones were intercepted before impact. The attacks, reportedly in retaliation for the killing of Iran’s supreme leader, mark a dangerous escalation as Iraq risks becoming a new frontline in the widening conflict. Iranian-backed militias, including factions within the Popular Mobilization Forces, are increasingly active, while Kurdish dissident sites have also been targeted. With U.S. forces stationed in the region, tensions are mounting and fears of broader war are growing. Watch
