The Maras Salt Mines are the only place in all of southern Peru where natural salt is produced. This salt was consumed by pre-Incan and Inca cultures. The salt is produced until our days, this place is called Maras salt mines. This place is located in the district of Maras, in the province of Urubamba, near the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
