Moving through the Kua and the idea of releasing and opening through the Kua is a key component of all Taiji and Qigong practice. This particular exercise is not only a useful tool for releasing through the Kua but also works to improve the strength and flexibility of the coccyx (tailbone), sacrum and lower back. This is vitally important for practitioners of Neigong who want to open the Weilu pass (often the most ridged of places) and to improve the quality of internal movement in this area.
