In this lecture we will learn about the synthesis of ethyl-acetate in reactive distillation column using Aspen HYSYS. Acetic acid when react with ethanol it produce ethyl-acetate and water.
The conversion of ethanol to ethyl-acetate depend on the feed and product molar rates and other factors. Actually reactive distillation is a process in which a chemical reaction is taking place on the plates of a distillation column. It is a cost effective separation process as compare to conventional separation processes.
