From the extreme north-western tip of Sardinia, Stintino stretches towards the Asinara National Park. Immediately at the point of intersection, the place unfolds its masterpiece, La Pelosa: crystal-clear, dozens of meters of shallow water, brilliant white, finest sand, radiant, calm sea in all shades of blue. Next to the big sister is the smaller Pelosetta beach, the end of which is an island with a towering Aragon tower (1578), which is also the symbol of the Pelosa. A unique panorama of the island of Piana and the unspoilt, wild Asinara National Park opens up from a 'terrace' above the 'tropical' beach at a height of 200 meters: Stintino is the nearest boat landing stage.
The Stintino area is a strip of land between two seas. To the west, the evocative 'outer sea', with high, jagged coast and small sand and pebble coves: it stretches from the unspoilt Capo Falcone, where stands the highest Spanish tower, the Nurra, and over which peregrine and king falcons soar, across the Valle della Luna and Coscia di donna to Cala del Vapore. To the east, within the gulf, the 'Inner Sea': flat, sheltered coastline stretching from Pelosa Beach through Ancora and the cliffs of Punta Negra to the round, white pebbles of Le Saline and Ezzi Mannu. In the middle of a natural oasis with lakes (Cesaraccio, Pilo) where the red heron, the great egret and the kingfisher live. The ruins of the towers Torre della Pelosa and Torre del Falcone as well as a nature reserve on the cliffs of Capo Falcone and the picturesque Bay of Sharks are in the vicinity.
