Choosing A Canoe for Moose Hunting: Capacity is King.

Описание к видео Choosing A Canoe for Moose Hunting: Capacity is King.

I moose hunt in lakes and rivers with no more than occasional avoidable class 2. These canoes work for me. I find that most people under-canoe. You need a canoe that gives you a minimum of 7-8 Inches of freeboard when loaded with the enormous weight required. The links below should help!

http://www.clippercanoes.com/20-foot-... A great double ender
http://www.clippercanoes.com/mackenzi... A great Square Stern.

https://holycowcanoe.com/2014/our-can... This Goliath model is another 17" deep Freighter with the superior Y-Stern design. Looks great

Novacraft makes a nice boat the Prospector 18 is pretty versatile http://www.novacraft.com/canoes/prosp...

Another good freighter this one is in a tough but overly flexible lay-up. Need to keep the motor power down in the 3HP range or it oilcans badly. http://esquif.com/en/canoe/cargo/

This Saskatchewan company uses epoxy resin so it should be tough. Nice looking boat but only 15" deep so capacity maybe in the 1300 pound range with 8" freeboard? https://www.kisseynewcanoecompany.com...

Like the looks of this one.... too bad it isn't a bit deeper. Still big enough to get the job done

A huge double ender. A bit heavy in fiberglass but a lot of boat. https://abitibico.ca/en/products/scot...
