Quantum Waves visualized in 3D

Описание к видео Quantum Waves visualized in 3D

This is a new way to visualize a one dimensional quantum wave function in 3D. Basically for a wavefunction confined to the x axis we use the y and z directions to represent the amplitude and phase of the complex value of the wavefunction at the corresponding value of x. This video is a crude "first pass" that I cooked up in a few hours using VPython. VPython is so amazingly great at allowing casual programmers to create 3D visualizations that I was able to come up with this very quickly after I had the basic idea worked out. You can get VPython for free and try it yourself at "http://vpython.org". Pre-class lecture by Steve Spicklemire.
