Tron: User Million

The Tron 'one hour million': an unachievable goal. The measure of a Tron master is how close he gets to it. Once upon a time in the '80s, I got within five minutes of it. As far as I know, no one has ever come closer.

Here's the second part of my most recent effort. Picking up from the moment I broke the scoreboard for the first time, I proceed to make a second million. My second hour's standard of play is roughly similar to my first's: the time wasting screw ups are frequent, but minor.

This is what I call a 'User million', as all its stages are User. User millions are always faster than the first million. Scoring during the first million lags behind because the low level stages (RPG and Cobol) consume time without offering many points in compensation. All things being equal, the first million will usually take about a minute longer than subsequent millions.

This particular User million takes 1 hour, 5 minutes, 49 seconds. Although it includes some embarrassing moments, it is one of the best times you will ever see. Perfect play will beat this by no more than a minute, I promise you.

Notes on my gameplay:-
(1) No hard spinning, as my hardware doesn't include a dial
(2) What may look like reckless play is actually safe
(3) Always know in advance which light cycle pattern to use.

(1) Edited to begin just after my score reached 1,000,000
(2) At the one hour mark, my score is 1,909,586
(3) Edited to end as soon as my score reaches 2,000,000.
