Cleveland weather: Sun and clouds Sunday, cold start to Monday

Your 7:40 a.m. Greater Cleveland and Northeast Ohio weather forecast for April 21, 2024:

We have hit the pause button on the spring season for this weekend. The latest push of chilly temperatures will dig in tonight and especially Sunday night. Frost Advisories are posted for much of the viewing area, excluding the lakeshore counties. There is a good likelihood that more Frost/Freeze alerts will be posted on Sunday night. Keep the cover on the plants all weekend. Lingering clouds and a west wind will help keep things comfortably above the freezing mark in most locations.

Clouds will stick around by daybreak Sunday before clearing out by the afternoon hours. A secondary push of chilly air will move in through the day. Clear skies and lighter winds after sunset will increase the potential for widespread frost and freeze Sunday night. Locations farther south of the lake could briefly touch the upper 20s.

We will rebound into the low 60s Monday under sunny skies. Damp weather will soon follow going into Tuesday.
