BIG RED 2500HD - BDS Coilover Conversion 6.5" Lift

When it comes to statement builds this Big Red Chevrolet 2500 sure does pack a punch.

We combined paint protection with a colour utilising the Bushwrapz Satin paint protection film. Wash marks and pinstripes are a thing of the past with this amazing product and feedback from our customers is that the expense is worth it. It isn't a cheap exercise but protecting your new truck and changing its gloss level at the same time really needs to be seen in person to be appreciated.

The BDS Coilover Conversion has always gained our interest but the let down in the kit was always the "cheap" and small shock absorbers. This newly released kit now offers Fox 2.5" Remote Res Adjustable Shocks both front and rear and it is one of the best driving kits on the market. Don't get fooled by the height, this kit on NB2 truck registration drives better than a 3" levelling kit.

With a big lift like this you really need a decent set of wheels and tyres, our customer opted for some Method 605NV wheels with 37x13.5x20 Yokohama X/AT GO16 Tyres. A great combination for daily use both on and off road. Bushwacker smooth fender flares were painted and wrapped in PPF to match the rest of the vehicle.

This vehicle will be doing quite a lot of rural travelling but our customer wanted a clean stage 1 build retaining the tub and original bar work but is already planning a full canopy for the rear and front bar combination.

One of the complaints from 2500 owners is the poor light output when remote and the Big Dog Builds Roof Rack Combination offers a 50" curved Stedi LED Lightbar for a great driving experience with convenience of 4 x amber Stedi side LED lights. The lighting outputs are all controlled from the Switchpro SP9100 switching unit and the side LED lighting can be dimmed down to a nice level while camping / working at night.

Rear airbag leaf helpers were added shortly after this video was shot and will keep the rear end level while towing. An electric tonneau was also added to the rear to keep the tub covered and gear inside out of the weather. The tonneau also has a neat LED light setup for convenience at night.

We finished this build by colour coding a few of the chrome badges this edition sports from GMSV here in Australia and the team really enjoyed seeing the customers reaction on our recent handover.
