Travel Buddy Oven Cook Ups Ep 21 - Beef Casserole

Travel buddy cook up number 21, another dinner on the road, it was Anzac day 2024 and I was on my way over to the Vic High Country to run or first 2 day beginners tour with Scott. This dinner was the idea of Luke Haydon as a suggestion from a previous episode. Not something I had done before and I was a little dubious of a liquid type meal after some leaks in other cookups, but I thought lets give it a go. So glad I did, it was a cold night and I left my run over to pretty late (something unusual), so having a piping hot dish when I arrived at Echuca was fantastic and just what the doctor ordered before bed. There would be ways of making it quicker or slower if you wanted to tinker with it, but I was happy to try and make the whole meal using the travel buddy. I don't think I would change anything on this cook, everything worked well, it cooked and tasted awesome. I even had enough left for lunch the next day. I was also trying to simulate something that might be a meal that was cooked late on a trip or if you were running short of fresh ingredients, hopefully things you might have stashed away as a just in case moment.

Ingredients:
• Beef cut of choice (blade steak this cook)
• Potatoes
• Carrots
• Onion
• Tomato Sauce
• Slow cook sachet
• Black/hot sauce (Worchester)
• Tin Tomatoes
• Tin mushrooms (fresh is fine)
• Red Wine
You can add any vegies you like, pumpkin, sweet potato, celery, broccoli

*Remember its not perfect, compared to the way you cook at home in your own oven, but it's all happening while your driving and saving you time when you arrive at your destination or for your lunch stop on the road. Keep trying different foods and times and see what works for you and your family.
