Baitcaster Reel Screech - Stop the NOISE! Watch as I show you how to remedy the nasty scream coming from your baitcasters brake system. One day you make a cast and notice your reel just doesn't sound right, typically it occurs on baitcasters with centrifugal brakes, the plastic feet deploy and friction causes the spool to slow helping to prevent birdsnest. By cleaning dirt and debris from the metal ring with rubbing alcohol helps eliminates such noise. I then add a small coat of reel lube to top it off and helps it perform like new again.
