Cantrips - Treantmonk's recommended

For your quick reference, my recommended Cantrips:
Minor Illusion - Blocks vision in combat and other creative uses
Guidance - Small bonus, but comes up all the time
Eldritch Blast - Almost all Warlocks will want this, the class is built for it
Fire Bolt, Chill Touch, Ray of Frost - All good, but pick just one
Toll the Dead - Good for Melee, High AC enemies, or other disadvantages to attack
Thorn Whip - The 10' pull effect provides advantages
Light - The best light spell
Mage Hand - Telekinisis is useful, no concentration
Mending - Useful, comes up more than you would think, really good for Archers
Prestidigitation - Very versatile, also fun
Booming Blade - for specific builds only, but for those builds, this is the best choice
Shape Water - Make ice bridges and a few other effects
Shillelagh - allows low level Druids to melee decently
