Flooded Desert River Catfishing! (Hundreds of Stranded Fish)

We made it back out to the flooded desert river and ran into an unexpected surprise! There were stranded fish all over from the previous flooding!

Our day of catfishing was great! We caught about 6-7 fish and even got some bigger ones again! These Arizona channel catfish are still out and feeding heavily!

Catfishing was going great until that water got a bit too high. It appears these fish were washed up from the rising water, and couldn’t make it back to the river in time. The main fish we saw were plecos, but also some tilapia and bluegill.

You never know what you are going to see at the flooded desert river! I was just happy to get some fish and see how high the water had come.
