Hi everyone! Today I attempt to recreate my grandma's traditional Hokkien-style Tau Yew Bak! Hope you guys like it!

Serves: 3-4

Ingredients:
600g pork belly (or any choice of meat)
1 whole garlic (peeled or unpeeled)
2 cloves garlic (minced)
3-4 eggs (boiled and peeled)
1 tbs peppercorn (cracked)
3 tbs dark soy sauce (or sweet soy sauce)
1-2 tbs light soy sauce (depending on how salty you want it to be)
2 tbs cooking oil
200ml water
*some salt & sugar for taste (adjust according to personal preferences)

Method:
1. Heat up cooking oil in pot.
2. Roast garlic and peppercorns for about 2-3 minutes.
3. Put in pork belly and stir fry until thoroughly cooked. (or at least 70% cooked)
4. Add in dark and light soy sauces. Mix well and cook for another 3 minutes.
5. Add in water. Bring the pot to a boil and let it simmer on low heat for 15-20mins to braise.
6. Add in sugar (start with just a little and adjust).
7. Add in boiled eggs. Make sure they're buried nicely and covered in sauce.
8. Let the pot simmer for another 5-10mins.
9. Uncover the lid, do a final taste test and the dish is ready!
10. Serve hot in a large pot with white rice and enjoy!
