Tip-SEE-Tue: Luting Cement Options in Prosthetic Dentistry

Описание к видео Tip-SEE-Tue: Luting Cement Options in Prosthetic Dentistry

The longevity of fixed partial prostheses depends on the type of luting cement used. A luting agent’s primary function is to fill the void at the restoration-tooth interface and mechanically lock the restoration in place to prevent its dislodgement during mastication. It is hence important for clinicians to understand all the options available and choose wisely.
In recent years, multiple luting cement options have emerged, each claiming clinically better performance than existing materials.
In this video, I share my understanding of types of cements and grade them into legacy, conventional, and contemporary options. The various agents discussed are: Zinc phosphate, Glass-ionomer, Resin modified GIC and Resin cement with recommendations on their use.
The purpose of this video is to provide an overview of the clinical options for luting cements currently available, so as to help you make smarter and appropriate choices.
