NKP 765: Rolling Victory Weekend

On Saturday, August 31st, 2024, I returned to Pleasant Lake Indiana to once again see NKP 765 on the Indiana Rail Experience. This weekend, 765 was participating in the Rolling Victory Weekend, a World War II themed event that is a showcase into what it was like during World War II. It was a cool experience and I managed to get a quick chase in. However, I was actually there for the ride. This would be my first ride on a mainline steam excursion in multiple years and the first ride I had behind 765 since 2021 and was also the first time I rode in an open air car, which was incredible! It was also the first time I ever bought a ticked for a steam excursion ever, which made it even more special. We even catch a bonus Norfolk Southern Manifest Train on the Chicago Line in Edgerton Ohio. 765 put on a phenomenal show as always and I cannot wait to return in October for the fall colors steam excursion!
