Fly Fishing the Dunajec River, Poland - Day 1, June 17, 2024

Our first day of fishing on the Dunajec River was really fun, with my friends Mai and John, guided by my good friend Wojtek Kudlacz, one of the best guides and owner operator of Fly Fishing in Poland.

We started on a nice stretch of river with Mai and John euro nymphing, and Donna was streamer fishing. Mai and John both caught several browns, and Donna had missed on and lost one on streamers in the lower stretch of the river.

Later in the afternoon, we moved to a different run that was easier to wade. Donna fished dry fly, and with a soft hackle as dropper, managed to catch several nice browns, and one on streamer. Mai caught two big naces, and john got some browns.

Fishing was not full on due a storm in the previous night, but we did well! We have 4 more days of fishing on the Dunajec River, and it should get better as the river settles down.
