Lake Ontario Painting

I’ve stained my canvas a number of times in the past, but this is the first time I used this combination of cad orange and burnt umber, it does give an interesting feel, but I’m not 100% convinced I’ll do it again? Part of my painting process usually means mistakes, sometimes lots of them, but here the only error I made worth mentioning was I didn’t get the distant water color quite right on my first pass. So out came the rag soaked in thinners and away went my first layer, no big deal, at least I wasn’t too far along before I noticed it. A number of weeks ago I went down to the lake a day after a big storm a snapped lots of pictures, my reference for this painting came from one of those photos. Oil on 15x30" deep edge canvas.
