I. STORY:

Master Gouken decided that both his pupils, the 23 year old shotokan karate fighters Ryu and Ken, were skilled enough to leave his dojo but that they should continue to test and sharpen their martial arts knowledge by fighting strong opponents.

When he was a child, Ryu, an orphan with no memory of his parents or of their existence, was adopted by Gouken, a martial arts master. Gouken trained Ryu from a very young age and in time, he has grown to be the boy's father figure.

Gouken's friend and Ken's father from the United States decided that his only son needed to learn about control and discipline so he sent his spoiled child in Japan to train under Gouken's tutelage. Ryu and Ken quickly became best friends, caring for each other like real brothers. They enjoyed training together and afterwards they developed a rival like relationship, wishing to test their strength against one another.

After leaving the dojo, Ken was happy to finally go back to USA. On the other hand, pleased by the announcement of the World Warrior Tournament, Ryu followed his master's advice and decided that he will enter to fight world's strongest fighters...

- there is no particular animation.

READ: To block standing or jumping attacks press or hold ← (back) when your opponent is attacking you. To block crouching attacks press or hold ↙ (downback).

READ: For Special Moves to work you must do the motion first then press the last movement direction plus the attack button at the same time. Example - Hadoken: do this first (↓ ↘) then press at the same time → + LP or MP or HP. The same goes for all Special Moves.

LP - (Light Punch) * also named (Weak Punch)
MP - (Medium Punch) * also named (Strong Punch)
HP - (Heavy Punch) * also named (Fierce Punch)
LK - (Light Kick) * also named (Short Kick)
MK - (Medium Kick) * also named (Forward Kick)
HK - (Heavy Kick) * also named (Roundhouse Kick)

3. Motions

↓ ↘ → - Press Down to Forward in a quick motion.

→ ↓ ↘ - Press Forward to Down to DownForward in a quick motion. Easier done by pressing Forward to Down to Forward fast.

↓ ↙ ← - Press Down to Back in a quick motion.

4. Special Moves

Hadoken: ↓ ↘ → + LP or MP or HP
Shoryuken: → ↓ ↘ + LP or MP or HP
Tatsumaki Sempukyaku: ↓ ↙ ← + LK or MK or HK
