Day 3, AKA The Day of Defeat, AKA Drama Central, saw us reach the very end of the trail and then have to turn around and hike 4Kms back to escape route E5. The Lottering River is not usually a concern, but with the ongoing rain, the river was in flood, with fast moving and swirling currents.

Adding 3.5 hours to our total time, we were defeated, exhausted and sore. This day however presents the very best of scenery - glades, meadows, reeds, plant tunnels, ponds, marshes and rock formations.
