CASIO COSMO PHASE : Why this watch is the culmination of astronomical history

Описание к видео CASIO COSMO PHASE : Why this watch is the culmination of astronomical history

The Casio Cosmo Phase was released in 1988 in a few different flavours including plastic and stainless steel versions - the CGW-50 through to mine own model the CGW-501. Friends of the channel asked me to do a review, but there are some great videos already out there - so I had to give it the illuminating watches treatment and do a deep dive into the history of the mechanisation of the solar system into instruments such as astrolabes, orreries and clocks - before the jump over to wrist watches such as Kristiaan Van Der Klauw and Ulysses Nardin. Of course, astronomical complications were the domain of high horology with the likes of Vacheron Constantin and PAtek Philip , but with the available data on planetary positions becoming available to the masses - Casio made the jump from its pre-programmed modules within the databank and universal calendar ranges and jumped into their own iconic cosmo phase watch - cousin of the moon graph and within their wrist instruments range.

I really enjoyed the making of this video and hope you learn a few things that make you look into more aspects of astronomical horology (if that's a thing). Happy hunting and I hope you enjoy (ed) the video!
