John and the boys changed a bit since the last cover didn’t they?


Well I got caught by a Pink Floyd phase and now here’s a little cover.
“Jugband Blues” is the last song on Pink Floyd´s second studio album “A Saucerful of Secrets” from 1968.
It’s their last song that was written by their first bandleader Syd Barrett. He left the band in the same year because of mental problems.
The lyrics are probably the darkest Barrett ever wrote. It’s about his feeling of slowly being kicked out of the band.
Although he seemed very uninvolved and absent during his last months in Pink Floyd, this songs shows that he was still fully aware of his condition. Very dramatic story.

I shortened the avantgarde/experimental part because I wasn’t able to recreate it well.
There are not much musical informations about this song so I did a lot by ear which made a lot of fun.
