An Abhang is a devotional poetry in praise of Lord Vitthal, an incarnation of Vishnu.

Bhakti is the medium which ties the human soul with the supreme consciousness.
'Sakhya Bhakti' is the form where you consider your ishta devatha as your dear friend and take liberties with him.

One evening, a devotee found Lord Vithal (Vishnu) standing next to her door and looking at her with a smile, while she was busy with her Pooja.
She says, "Vithoba Chala Mandirat," which means :
"Vithal Bhagvan, please go back to the temple where you belong. "
She asks, "Why are you here this evening?
The devotees must have made garlands for you and they will be anxiously waiting at the 'Sreekovil' to catch a glimpse of you !
So, please go back to the temple where you belong. "

She tries hard to convince him, but he wants to be with her and did not move at all.
She finally takes him along with her to the temple to witness the moment where her dear friend Vithal being offered by the whole villagers.
