The US 1883 Campaign Hat (REVIEW)

This hat in my opinion is one of the best hats to have while out on campaign, in the wilderness, or in the hot sun. The brass vent holes on each side allow for excellent ventilation. Even in the snow, this hat preformed very well in keeping my head warm. It is a wool felt hat, and it does repel water, but is not water proof. These campaign hats saw service in Cuba, the Philippines and stateside during the years 1899-1917. They were very popular among soldiers, as they hated the US Army sun hat.
