Ratchet & Clank Future Retrospective & Development Deep Dive

This is the story of one broken promise, a promise that's hurt every Ratchet & Clank game since 2007's Tools of Destruction.

Ratchet & Clank has always been defined by its ambition, and this ambition was never clearer than with the PS3's Ratchet & Clank Future Saga: A multi-game story arc that aimed to be too big for any one game. However, some of the folks at Insomniac Games had promised much more than they could achieve, telling Sony representatives that R&C Future: Tools of Destruction would have full multiplayer and co-op support - features that were NEVER in production. The Future Saga would never recover from this promise, as Insomniac rushed to "make it up" to their upset publisher, and the Ratchet & Clank series has paid the price for it ever since.
