Two Minutes of Anatomy: Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL)

Описание к видео Two Minutes of Anatomy: Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL)

Anterior Cruciate Ligament
Main knee stabilizer.
Limits anterior tibial translation & excessive tibial rotation.
Arises from posterior aspect of medial surface of lateral femoral condyle.
Runs inferior, medial & anterior.
Inserts anterior to intercondyloid eminence of tibia, blended with anterior horn of medial meniscus.
Located deep in the center of the knee.
Intracapsular.
Two major bundles: Posterolateral (PL) & anteromedial (AM).
When knee is extended: PL bundle is tight & AM bundle is moderately lax.
When knee is flexed: AM bundle tightens & PL bundle relaxes.
&AM bundle is primary restraint against anterior tibial translation.
PL bundle tends to stabilize knee near full extension, particularly against rotatory loads.
