Posterior Cruciate Ligament
Originates on lateral edge of medial femoral condyle & roof of intercondyle notch.
Runs inferior, posterior & lateral.
Attaches to posterior tibia just inferior to its articular surface.
Posterior to ACL.
Located deep in the joint.
PCL & ACL are classified as intracapsular ligaments.
Anterolateral & posteromedial bundles.
Anterolateral section stretches in flexion.
Posteromedial bundle stretches in extension.
Function: Prevent posterior tibial translation to the femur.
