Pruning Fruit trees. Training branches out.

Описание к видео Pruning Fruit trees. Training branches out.

Pruning of fruit trees is vitally important to their health. To prevent disease and help fruit ripen it is important to open up the center of the tree and spread out the branches. If left alone the tendency is for the branches to grow straight up. We discus a few ways to train the branches on your fruit tree such as Apples, pears, peach, plum etc. The trees in this video are in the horticulture class garden at Woodland Middle School. These donated trees were cut back a year earlier. Then Covid hit in March and we were told to stay off of campus. The trees sent most of its branches straight up because we were not there to help train them. Now a year later we are getting them back to the open vase shape that is preferred.
