Walk'n talk: Sibila Mukudi, student at IMC Krems interviews programme director, Dr. Harald Hundsberger in very charming way. In October 2021, they walked through the IMC Campus Krems and Dr. Harald Hundsberger showed the Biotech-facilities in Wing D. They ended up at the IMC laboratories, where a lot of research is done and students can get state-of-the-art knowledge.

⏩ What better place to develop expertise in medical and pharmaceutical biotechnology than in an area as popular and well-connected as the Krems region?

The Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology bachelor degree is taught in English and comprises theoretical courses and extensive laboratory practicals that cover the fundamentals of natural sciences, biomedicine and the applicable technologies.

⏩ Courses of the programme are split into three subject areas: Medical biotechnology, Pharmaceutical biotechnology and Quality management. As well as acquiring fundamental scientific knowledge, you also focus on communication and human resources in preparation for working in an interdisciplinary environment. Your training also includes practical work as part of research and industry projects.

⏩ A particularly attractive option is the double degree we offer in conjunction with the Turku University of Applied Sciences in Finland. Besides obtaining a bachelor of science at IMC Krems, you will also be accredited with completing the Biotechnology and Chemical Engineering programme at our partner institution.

The most fascinating thing about Life Sciences is to learn new things constantly and to thrive into it and to find out things that are not known at the moment.
What I really like and enjoy about a Life Sciences study program is that it combines so many fields of natural sciences such as biology, microbiology, chemistry, physics but also the medical aspects.
